Pilates Chairs Level 1 & 2 Course

Training on the Wunda Chair, High Chair and Arm Chair. The Chairs offer the least support of all the equipment, so they demand precise control and clearly reveal asymmetries. You will learn the basic and intermediate repertoire, unilateral work, standing exercises and shoulder girdle strengthening.

The Pilates Chairs Level 1 & 2 course is designed for those who:

‍

• want to start teaching classical Pilates on the large equipment,

• want to become proficient in the Wunda Chair, High Chair and Arm Chair repertoire,

• want to develop technical precision and the ability to analyse movement,

• are continuing their education after the Mat and Reformer modules as part of full Level 1 & 2 certification,

• are aiming for comprehensive preparation for the role of a Pilates instructor.

‍

‍

The programme covers:

‍

• a thorough overview and study of the entire Wunda Chair, High Chair and Arm Chair repertoire,

• principles of spring work and chair set-up depending on the purpose of the exercise,

• developing stability, limb strength and movement control when working on a limited surface,

• analysis of exercise mechanics and how the chair affects the movement path and body organisation,

• lesson planning: from simple routines to more demanding sequences,

• intensive teaching practice, observation and technical corrections.

‍

The course focuses on technique, the logic of movement and the correct use of the Chairs in teaching.
